Cost Analyst

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
Assist the finance of both Delmas and WNS, and plant departments with the OEE, total solids utilizations, transport invoicing, and reconciliation. Prepare records of standard costs and values for raw materials, dry goods, finished goods, and packaging supplies. Prepares reports of total direct costs and cost breakdown analysis. Process, maintain and analyse the data used for costing determinations and financial reports.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- **
Providing accurate financial information and analysis**:

- Compile weekly and monthly management reports detailing direct costs and production results, monthly scorecards, and potato reviews.
- Ongoing analysis of pertinent data.
- Prepare distribution of usage variances for direct labor and burdens (electricity, water, and coal).
- Calculate the total solids utilization report in line with the McCain global standards.
- Update potato review information for management monthly.
- **
Embedding SAP controls and processing;**
- Develop the necessary SAP financial controls and procedures.
- Embed the implementation of these with the relevant managers and supervisors.
- Work with relevant parties to develop WIMs and SOPs.
- **
Cost Report and Materials Balancing;**
- Cost Report and Materials Balancing.
- Analyze open orders on SAP and advise on action to be taken.
- Analyse SAP process orders affecting the direct cost report and confirm the accuracy of the data.
- Reconcile potato stock on SAP with physical stock on site.
- Reconcile oil usage with day tanks and SAP.
- Send out the cost report to the necessarily interested party.
- **
Production Data;**
- Record data for production (OEE, Operational Availability, Finished goods, shift performance analysis)
- Run weekly cost reports and advise.
- Calculate ABC potato grades into packed finished goods.
- Liaise with production on materials, reworks, and dry goods. To make necessary adjustments monthly.
- **
Administrative Duties;**
- Issue petty cash as and when required.
- Populate the MMRFs.
- Prepare weekly and monthly plant on a page reports and datasheets for management.
- Prepare monthly stockholding report.
- Prepare the monthly waste sheet data from the weighbridge.
- Prepare trucking invoices for payment and reconcile monthly.
- **
Management and co-ordination of Ad hoc functions as and when they arise;**
- Involvement in continuous improvement of SAP ERP systems by performing all relevant SAP transactions as per allocated role ensuring data integrity and discipline at all times.
- Working with SAP users to ensure cost elements reflecting on direct cost are accurate and make adjustments if required.

**EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Diploma in Finance/Commerce. (Degree will be an added advantage).
- FMCG Manufacturing finance 3 -5 years.
- Knowledge of costing system and controls.

**PERSON SPECIFICATIONS**:

- Proficiency in SAP, MS 365, and advanced excel skills.
- Good understanding of costing systems and controls.
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Interpretation of variance analysis.
- Understanding of potato production processes.
