**Bookkeeper**

Our company is looking for a experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. You must have the following attributes such as; efficient, flexible, self-motivated, organized, proactive, working under pressure and understanding all accounts duties:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate computers with accounting software to record, store and analyze information.
- Check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
- Perform personal bookkeeping services.
- Verify accuracy of financial or transactional data.
- Compile data and documentation.
- Classify, record and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
- Debit, credit and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
- Prepare trial balances of books.
- Calculate, prepare and issue bills, invoices, accounts statements and other financial statements according to established procedures.
- Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes and other payments.
- Compute deductions for income and social security taxes.
- Code documents according to company procedures.
- Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tablets pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profits and losses.
- Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records
- Reconcile records of bank transactions.
- Compare computer printouts to manually maintained journals to determine if they match.
- Complete and submit statutory returns: tax forms and returns, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution and other government documents.
- Prepare purchase orders and expense reports.
- Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Perform financial calculations such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity and principal.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones and handling routine correspondence.
- Compile budget data and documents based on estimated revenues, expenses and previous budgets.
- Answer customer calls
- All office administration duties
- Monitor the gate for in coming and outgoing visitors

**Requirements**:

- 3-5 years’ experience
- Grade 12
- Experience in word and excel
- Good organizational skills
- Work Independently
- Diploma in Accounting

**Experience**:

- Prepare books to Trial Balance
- Working experience on QuickBooks
- Assist the auditors with information at financial year end
- Submit general ledger reporting to external auditors monthly

**Salary**: R12,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)

**Experience**:

- Bookkeeper: 2 years (required)
