Job Title: Raw Materials Controller

Job Summary / Purpose:
Sourcing, controlling, maintaining and mixing of raw materials as well as other parts and resources that are needed to manufacture products

Working Hours
Mon-Fri: 07:00 - 18:00
Saturday 07:00 - 13:00 and/or Sunday as required or on a rotational basis.

Primary Responsibilities
- Check quality and quantity of materials from supplier’s when receiving by managing and controlling the receiving and incoming inspection process.
- Ensure all materials are warehoused in a correct manner and place.
- To plan and schedule and manage the material mixing process.
- Manage and control materials utilisation, requirements, spillage, waste, mixing and storage in all departments.
- Manage and control changes in material specifications.
- Ensuring mandatory documentation is maintained and gathered as needed, pursuant to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure records are effectively completed and provided to relevant people
- Scrap reporting. Consumable recoveries e.g.: lumps, cardboard etc
- Ensuring the scrap stock is properly monitored and counted.
- Mixing raw materials as per formulation
- Job preparation as per bills of materials and recipes
- Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit
- Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
- Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
- Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedule
- Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production
- Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
- Utilise any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
- Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels
- Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and investigate and report on variances
- Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
- Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
- Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
- Develop and implement processes and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives
- Support assessment, sourcing, research and development of suppliers in conjunction with members of the purchasing team
- Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met
- Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the purchasing and/or Quality teams
Secondary Responsibilities
- Keep work areas neat and tidy and ensure housekeeping is in order daily, paying attention to the external receiving and pallet storage area.
- General task as might be requested and as designated by seniors.
- Participate in monthly stock take.
- Cellular phone availability after-hours and on weekends as required.
- To maintain a high professional and ethical profile in accordance with industry and company standards
- Ensuring quality and food safety system and social accountability system requirements are adhered to
- Overlap on planning and scheduling when required
**Education and Experience**
** Experience in plastic raw material processing**
** Knowledge of raw material grades and properties**
** Experience with plastic raw material and masterbatch mixing**
** Qualification in plastics raw materials or plastic manufacturing in general is preferred**
** Experience in controlling a raw material store is preferred**
** Experience in working with bills of materials**
** ERP system experience required, Syspro preferred**

**Salary**: R13,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
