Warehouse and Hse Manager

**Job Functions (Areas of Accountability)**:
**Stock Management**
- Assess returned stock, confirm that returns requirements are met.
- Oversee stock management; investigate stock discrepancies and shrinkage, as reported by the Stock Controller, verify results of cycle counts and reports.
- Liaise with couriers regarding delivery and collections.
- Ensure incoming shipments are offloaded timeously
- Liaise with the Logistics regarding shipments, shortages, IBT’s.

**Cost Management**
- Effective cost control of financial and other resources including:

- Overtime
- Packaging materials
- Fuel costs
- Maintenance materials
- Warehouse consumables

**People Management**
- Liaise with Stores Supervisor to confirm employee attendance, daily task allocation, deliveries etc.
- Manage employees' interests and issues in line with company policies and procedures.

**Technical Knowledge**
- Provide technical product knowledge and advice to customers, including drive designs (motors, gearboxes).
- Assist sales team with technical product support.
- Inspect and conduct quality control of returns products, problem-solve technical failures; conduct onsite inspections

**Facility and Vehicle Management**
- Liaise with security company to ensure electric fence in working order. Guard reports for duty daily. Report any issues. Monitor CCTV footage.
- Test alarm and panic buttons monthly in conjunction with security company.
- Ensure equipment, such as generators and fire equipment, are in working condition and serviced annually.
- Ensure forklift is functioning and serviced annually.
- Ensure pallet jacks are in good working order and serviced annually.
- Ensure company vehicles are serviced when required (based on mileage / vehicle inspection sheets / annually).
- Responsible for all company vehicles licencing nationally, renewals, roadworthiness testing when required.
- Collate and check vehicle inspection sheets. Report misuse of vehicles.
- Monitor driving behaviour and vehicle locations through Matrix tracking for reckless / negligent driving.

**Safety, Health & Environmental Standards**
- Fulfil 16.2 duties as prescribed in OSH Act.
- Ensure that HSE programs are in place and managed by HSE representatives, line managers and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with OSH Act and other legislation.
- Ensure any HSE matters are immediately reported, following the incident reporting procedures.
- Prepare and submit monthly HSE reports.
- HSE equipment must be available and ready for use.
- Ensure HSE equipment is serviced annually.
- Incidents / accidents are prevented by effective operating of equipment and machinery, and by following health and safety procedures and risk assessment guidelines.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to and updated as set down by legislation.
- Ensure a safe and clean work area.

**Job Requirements**:

- Education
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Valid, unendorsed SA Driver’s License.
- Logistics / Warehouse Management qualification advantageous.

- Experience:

- 5 - 10 years’ experience in a warehouse environment at a senior management level.
- Computer literate (MSOffice, SAGE Evolution).
