Our client in the FMCG industry has an opportunity available for a Junior Buyer in the Cape Town area.
**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Matric
- Diploma in purchasing (3 year diploma level)
- Inventory Management Certificate
- 5 Years plus with in-house training in a Food Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the basics of purchasing within inbound logistics functions
- Knowledge and understanding of basic controlling procedures required to optimise materials management
- Knowledge of the Packaging/Converter Industry
- Knowledge of commodity/market trends of Raw Materials locally and global
- Knowledge and understanding of MRP systems
- Computer Literate - specifically SAP, EXCEL, WORD
- Must have worked in a SAP / MRP driven environment

**KPAs**:

- Supplier Base and Supplier Management
- Promotions are negotiated to reduce the input cost of inventory
- Sales performance is recorded and traceable and performance targets and forecast are recorded and manage (out of line performance rectified
- Supplier information is accurately maintained and update, all critical information pertaining to the supplier
- Procurement Administration is system is set up and maintained
- Procurement demand is adjusted according to reviewed figures on forecast, NPD and elimination figures
- CSB data is maintain and reports are drawn from system to assist with management of suppliers
- Effective communication systems is established and maintained with all relevant internal customers
- Work on building a positive relationship with all suppliers continuously
- Manage inventory within business parameters
