**Role**: Bookkeeper
**Location**: Sandton, Johannesburg
**Type**: Part-Time (with potential for two additional part-time roles with other clients)

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in Xero
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Prepare and issue client invoices
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting
- Process payroll or coordinate with payroll providers, as needed
- Prepare financial reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Aged Receivables/Payables
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and tax regulations
- Communicate effectively with US-based clients and address queries promptly
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Liaise with external accountants for audits or tax submissions

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably with US clients
- Proficient in **Xero** (certification preferred)
- Strong understanding of **US GAAP** and tax requirements
- Advanced skills in **Excel** or **Google Sheets**:

- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working in a remote/cloud-based setup

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Xero Advisor Certification
- Experience with tools such as **Dext**, **Hubdoc**, or **Gusto** (US payroll)
- Background in a BPO, outsourced accounting firm, or finance environment
- Flexibility to work across time zones, especially **US EST/PST**

**Working Hours**:

- Part-time, with flexible scheduling
- Availability to overlap with US business hours is essential, particularly during reporting periods
