To assist management in the effective running of the kitchen and bar. Ensuring customer satisfaction by maintaining excellent and consistent standards of delivery and professionalism.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Pre-cooking preparation and post cooking clean up.
- Maintain hygiene in food preparation, cooking and storage
- Handle and maintain knives
- Prepare and cook Protein Dishes; basic pastry dishes; basic egg dishes; confectionery and bakery and basic sauces and soups
- Prepare and present food for cold presentation
- Provide a buffet service
- Handle and store food
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment
- Maintain health, hygiene and a professional appearance according to policies
- Maintain productivity standards
- Provide a consistent and fast client service
- Lead and supervise allocated kitchen staff
- Maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff
- To motivate and be proactive in encouraging team commitment and spirit
- To undertake any other duties as and when required by Senior Management
**PERSONAL SPECIFICATION**

- Ability to deal with unexpected situations and resolve emergencies.
- Passion for food presentation
- Ability to work under pressure and according to strict deadlines.
- Willing to work long hours, weekends and public holidays.
**EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE**:
- Matric and relevant qualification
- Must have an eye for detail and adhere to consistency.
- Previous experience in a similar environment
