Provide individual and group counselling sessions for patients in recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.
Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment and relapse prevention plans.
Facilitate psychoeducational, process, and skills development groups in line with clinical programme objectives.
Monitor patient progress and document therapeutic interventions accurately and comprehensively.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers to ensure cohesive treatment delivery.
Participate in clinical case conferences and contribute to patient progress reviews.
Support family therapy and family involvement sessions when required.
Ensure all counselling practices align with HPCSA/BAPSA ethical codes and professional standards.
Provide aftercare planning and support for patients transitioning out of the inpatient programme.
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times.

**Qualifications**: Registered Counsellor with either the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or Board of Addiction Professionals South Africa (BAPSA).
**Experience**: Minimum of 5 years counselling experience within an addiction recovery, psychiatric, or mental health facility.
**Languages**: Fluent in Afrikaans and English (both spoken and written).
**Personal History**: Preferably not rehabilitated (i.e., not a recovering or former addict).
**Transport**: Must have own reliable transport to and from work.
**Availability**: Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per roster.
**Personal Attributes**:

Excellent communication and listening skills.
Emotionally stable, with strong personal boundaries.
Structured, reliable, and self-motivated.
Able to manage group dynamics and difficult emotional situations with sensitivity and authority.
Collaborative and team-oriented approach to patient care.
