A. Job Title: General Store Assistant reporting to the Retail Manager
B. Job Overview
The General Store Assistant responsibilities include receiving and off-loading stock, place and arrange
items in fridges, on shelves and in store, merchandising and cleaning.

C. Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to)
1 Stock Receiving and off-loading
- Off-load items to receiving area and de-stack stock
- Blind receive stock into store
- Check items for damages and keep all pallets neat and tidy
- Ensure that stock rotation is done according to prescribed methods
- Only pick stock from open boxes before opening new boxes
- Pack freezers at the back

2 Merchandising and Cleaning
- Maintain shop and shelves volumes
- Fill up shop at closing before leaving
- Merchandising of allocated displays
- Clean allocated areas as per roster

3 Reporting & Counting
- Report damages and check the expiry dates, sell by dates and best before dates
- Perform daily blind stock count as per set schedule

4 Teamwork
- Support department managers and co employees.
- Actively participate as a member of the team
- Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the

manager.
5 Housekeeping and Safety Standards
- Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are

maintained according to laid down standards and norms
- Ensure Personal hygiene standards are maintained
- Take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others
- Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
- No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment
- Keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks

D. Knowledge, skills, and experience required

Educational Background:

- Grade 12
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand Afrikaans & English

Knowledge/Skills:

- Forklift licence will be advantageous
- Operational Agility
- Ensure Vision, Mission and Values underpin all activities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Physical Demands
Must be found medical fit by Occupational Medical Practitioner for job appointed for.

**Salary**: R4,000.00 - R4,521.70 per month
