**Job Title : Junior Production Planner**

**PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION**

Coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products. Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.

**Basic Functions**
- Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
- Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
- Monitors daily schedule status and communicates scheduling problems or concerns to Management.
- Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules
- Prepares and distributes weekly production schedules / work order dispatch lists.
- Confers with the Production Manager to determine the status of schedules and materials to revise schedules, as necessary, to meet customer demands.
- Assist management to resolve problems with late shipments, material shortages, customer schedule changes, and cancellations of customer orders.
- Proposes, gains approval for, and leads implementation of improved planning methods, tools, and reports.
- Prepares production reports.
- Special projects as assigned

**Responsibilities**
- Ensures communication, visibility, and clarity of Production Plan to all departments including Raw Materials, Manufacturing and Warehousing
- Lead change towards operational excellence, and assist in the continual improvement of the system, process, and product to reduce waste and delays, to produce cost reductions and higher levels of efficiency.
- Conduct time and motion studies of shop floor operations to determine improved layouts, plant and labor utilization as required.
- Determine overall labor requirements to achieve the production plan.
- Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
- Assessing the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
- Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
- Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality

**Production Planning**
- Plans and prepares production schedules for products.
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
- Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers to enhance capacity and reduced changeovers
- Confer with departments supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

**Master Production Scheduling**
- Creates and understands rough cut capacity plan (RCCP).
- Understands and influences the planning parameters (In-House and External) and assumptions e.g. changeovers, stock-building, warehouse Constraints etc.
- Creates cost contingency plans and scenarios, supported by the Finance team.
- Develop planning tools and framework to obtain approval from main stakeholders. Convey or publish Production Plan to relevant departments.
- Convey and negotiate Master Production Schedule along with contract manufacturers to assure schedule achievability.
- Establish planning calendar to assure standard updates to Master Production Schedule every month.
- Develop, execute, and maintain tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes.
- Ensure constant communication with main stakeholders from Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain pertinent to requirements and impacts.
- Plan as well as coordinate materials availability to assist production developed schedules.
- Resolve problems plus enhance improvements associated with inventory flow plus production control.
- Appropriate, but robust integration with other planning processes e.g. Demand, Inventory, S&OP, New Products Launch Management Process.
- Accountable for developing what-if supply scenarios and develop recommendations in response to actual or anticipated changes in demand or supply.
- Accountable for facilitating the Supply Review processes, communicate decisions and supply impacts to all stakeholders, escalation, and prioritization of supply responses around all issues and opportunities impacting customer service to stakeholders
