Machine Lead

**The position**
Leading the machine crew on shift in order to continuously meet and exceed throughput, quality, safety and productivity targets.
The role is a key to ensure a safe working environment in compliance to all departmental and plant safety processes, rules and regulations, with immediate call to action on any nonconformances.
Working closely with the Asset leader, while continuously monitoring asset performance and co-ordinating problem solving on shift, the Machine team lead coaches, trains and manages shift resources as well as overtime, absenteeism to achieve production target as well as material consumption on shift to budget levels.
Maintaining 5S housekeeping principles to the department at all times, including all equipment and surrounds, participating in all changeovers, ensuring they are performed using best practices.

**About You**
As a person, you’re someone who has prior experience - 3 to 5 years in high speed production equipment, of which a minimum of 6 months in an acting role as shift production technician / machine lead position in manufacturing. You demonstrated a good capacity for immediate problem solving, whether technical, safety or shift resources related.
You also have:
- A minimum of a tertiary qualification in manufacturing management, engineering, or general management; a national technical diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be an added advantage
- Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems and Adhesive systems
- The ability to use and understand mechanical drawings
- A previous project experience would be advantageous
