FUEL SUPERVISOR

GENERAL:
The Fuel Supervisor’s primary responsibility is the effective and efficient management of the Diesel and Tarpaulin Sections of Stores and all stock within these stores. It is the primary function of the Fuel Supervisor to co-ordinate with the Stores and Procurement Supervisor to maintain stock levels to ensure an efficient and cost-effective supply of goods from these sections. It is essential to monitor stocks to ensure there is no negative impact or delays to the movement of the fleet. All stock requirements are to be reported to the Procurement & Stores Supervisor.

The Fuel Supervisor’s reports directly to the Procurement & Stores Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The scope of responsibilities of the Fuel Supervisor covers the following points:
OUTLINE OF DUTIES:

- The management of the Diesel and Tarpaulin Sections of Stores under the direct supervision of the Procurement & Stores Supervisor.
- In co-ordination with the Procurement & Stores Supervisor and Stores Managers are responsible for ensuring all stock levels are maintained for cost effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure there is always sufficient diesel for the fleet and to report to the Procurement & Stores Supervisor on interruptions in diesel deliveries.
- Ensure that all items drawn from stores are correctly allocated to the correct trucks/trailers in the FMS including Fire Extinguishers, Tarpaulins, Black Plastic, Nets, Corner Plates, etc.
- Ensure that all equipment used on a temporary basis is returned and accounted for, for example chains etc.
- Ensure that the machinery used on a temporary basis is returned and accounted for example gensets etc.
- Ensure all machinery is maintained and serviced at the correct intervals and that it is kept in good working order.
- Manage, supervise, support and develop the Diesel and Tarpaulin Sections team, ensuring a high level of motivation, discipline and morale is always maintained.
- Strong oversight of the Diesel and Tarpaulin Sections team to ensure all internal procedures are adhered to and complied with including that, all stock issued has the relevant job card, spare request and inventory issue note and is correctly registered on the Job Cards.
- Oversight of the Diesel and Tarpaulin Sections team to ensure all documents that need signatures are signed and correctly filed.
- Ensure that FMS & Sage records are properly captured and maintained.
- In co-ordination with the Procurement & Stores Supervisor establish minimum stock levels and ensure these records are correctly maintained in FMS and Sage.
- In co-ordination with the Procurement & Stores Supervisor and Stores Manger ensure all second hand and reconditioned spares records are captured in Sage and linked to warehouse WH02 and WH04 respectively.
- Comply with all HSES regulations for all work processes in the workshop.
- Take responsibility for the work area and always ensure a professional working environment and cleanliness.
- Ensure the appropriate usage and handling of machines, tools and repair equipment.
- Ensuring that the Diesel and Tarpaulin Sections are neat, clean and well packed and all parts are correctly stored in their correct bin locations and laid out in a manner to enhance efficiency.
- Reporting any stock variances to the Stock Controller and Procurement & Stores Supervisor.
- Seek systems and management improvements with the goal of raising productivity and cutting costs for the company.
- Perform other tasks as may be required by the Procurement & Stores Supervisor and/or Workshop Administration Manager and/or General Manager, CEO or his Deputy.

- Academic Background: Degree/Diploma with high school completed.
