**Job Description**:

- Use database monitoring tools to send alerts and to configure, and refine these system monitoring tools and alerts to reduce false positives
- Respond to failure notices and escalation requests to fix production systems
- Assists with day-to-day administration of MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases like backups, restores, monitoring and running of jobs etc.
- Assisst with the implementation of systems enhancements
- Resolve environment issues timeously.
- Adhere to our change control processes.
- Implement, maintain and support best practices process related to the management of our DB infrastructure
- Exercise technical consistency within the IT environment.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Requirements

Education

A 3+ year Degree at a reputable tertiary institution or national diploma is preferable in Information Systems or Computer Sciences.

ExperienceCompetencies
- Any official certifications a plus but not a necessity - for example, MCITP, MCSE
