Tax Registration Officer

A Tax Registration Officer role has become available within Forvis Mazars in South Africa.
The main purpose of the role would be preparing, submitting, and completing VAT and Customs registrations with SARS and deal with associated correspondence. Attending to all SARS ad hoc queries allocated to them by the management team.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- VAT, PAYE and Customs registration on behalf of clients and ad hoc references for registrations
- Liaising with SARS on behalf of Mazars on request from any Mazars internal and / or external / potential client, where this cannot be resolved by normal course of business and requires intervention at a SARS level.
- Deregistration’s (Trusts and Individuals)
- Resolve escalated queries.
- Manage individual productivity (include completion of timesheets)/ travelling/ parking.
- Research and identify changes in legislation and standards impacting the firm and the profession.
- Effective communication with internal and external clients
- Foster professional client relationships with internal and external clients
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Grade 12
- Registration as Registered Tax Practitioner with a controlling body and SARS (qualification dependent on the controlling body requirements)
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the field and specifically dealing with SARS
Knowledge of:
- MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of Greatsoft will be advantageous.
- SARS E-Filing
- Knowledge of current legislation and other regulations relating to the work
