Senior Laboratory Analyst

**WHAT IS ON OFFER**

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Laboratory Analyst -Production to join the team in Rustenburg. This individual will be responsible for coverage of reporting personnel including shift supervision as well as ensuring Laboratory Analysts training is done correctly and timeously. In addition, the role will also be responsible for ensuring generation and production of analytical results to a high degree of precision and accuracy and ensuring that a cost effective and high quality analytical service is provided to clients within stipulated turnaround times.

**DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES**

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

**Required Competencies**
- Good timekeeping and time management skills.
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers)
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Quality: ‘Right first time’ approach, completes work to a high standard, continually looking for improvements and strong problem-solvers, high level of attention to detail is key within this role.
- Handles challenges in a mature manner.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Keeping the reception area clean and professional.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Honest, Adaptable and Flexible, can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal

- Basic knowledge and understanding of ISO17025 requirements.
- Good knowledge and understanding of ICP-OES and classical wet chemistry

**Required Qualifications**
- Grade 12 (with Maths, Chemistry and Science)
- Analytical Chemistry Diploma or other appropriate Tertiary Qualification added advantage

**Required work experience**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production analytical chemistry laboratory with proven track record of fire assay, sample preparation, classical wet and instrumental chemistry and evaluation and reporting of analytical results
