Department University of Venda -> Vice Chancellor and Principal -> Deputy Vice Chancellor: Teaching and Learning -> Faculty of Health Sciences -> Department of Public Health Job Title LECTURER NGAP (PHASE 10) PUBLIC HEALTH Post Level Lecturer Job Type Academic - Donor Funded Closing Date 29/8/2025 Job Requirements **_The nGAP Programme _**_provides a wonderful supporting environment for aspirant academics to complete their studies while developing teaching and learning, research and innovation as well as community engagement skills._ **_The following generic criteria are applicable: -_** Interest in becoming an academic **_-_** Be 40 years or younger **_-_** Evidence of eligibility to undertake postgraduate study at a Doctoral level **_-_** Be willing to commit to placement at the University of Venda for the full eight years of the programme consisting of three years of development, three years of induction as an academic and two years as a fully inducted academic. **_Requirements: -_** Master's degree in Public Health with specialization in communicable and non-communicable diseases with an average pass mark of 70% - Eligibility and willingness to register and complete a _Doctoral degree in the relevant field of specialization during the first three years of employment as an nGAP Lecturer _**_-_** Teaching and research ability is highly recommended **_-_** Ability to work independently and collaboratively in discharging duties **_-_** Computer literacy **Duties**: Lecture students at undergraduate and postgraduate level **_-_** Initiate and be involved in community engagement initiatives **_-_** Curriculum and programme development -**_ _**Setting and assessment of exam papers and assessing portfolio of evidence **_-_** Supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and undertake research **_-_** Involvement in departmental research and publications **_- _**Assist with administrative duties in the department and/or school **_-_** Attendance of developmental workshops for teaching and learning **_-_** Participation in tutoring and mentoring activities **_-_** Participation in all components and activities of the nGAP programme for the duration of the contract.
