**LOCATION: PHOENIX**

A large Phoenix based supermarket is looking for dynamic and skilled Butchery Manager to join the butchery (Halaal).

**Purpose**:Be responsible for maintaining a well-run butchery team by ensuring smooth operations and positive customer experiences of the store.

**Job Summary**: We are seeking a Butchery Manager to manage our store butchery team. He/she will ensure health and safety protocols are being followed and will also monitor the quality of butchery products and be responsible for sales, gross margin, profitability.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Estimate requirements and order meat supplies, negotiate with representatives from supply companies to determine order details.
- Ensure you receive, inspect, record and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat quality and safety
- Ensure the butchery team exercise hygiene control and maintain excellent housekeeping protocols in compliance with health departments.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with your team and encourage mutual trust, respect and cooperation. Assist and care for co-workers and suppliers.
- Come up with new ideas, to build and improve the butchery management.
- Conduct on-the-job training and coaching to your team by motivating and developing them to achieve objectives & strategies.
- Purchasing, management and control of inventory; stock checks; exercise the first in first out principal and control wastage.
- Administration: Signing off on invoices, timesheets and checklists, draft duty roster.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Minimum 1 year management experience within the Meat industry
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Prior experience of being a blockman.
- Coping under pressure and setbacks
- Knowledge of meat market operations & hygiene and safety standards
