Manager Operations West Rand

The **Manager Operations** is accountable for **leading the mining operation** with a **core focus on full-cycle planning, scheduling and production delivery**. The incumbent is required to **enable and manage all operational dynamics** between the **technical, commercial, and social aspects of the operational system**. This includes **translating strategy into operational delivery plans**, **discerning operational trends and designing, constructing and optimising the mining value chain**. The role is further required to** lead the continuous enhancement of safety standards**, to **optimise operational planning, scheduling and execution** and, to **initiate and lead various operational enhancement projects**.
- **Matriculated or Equivalent with a Bachelors / Honours degree in Mining or Equivalent**:

- ** Mine Managers Certificate of Competency**:

- ** Proven track record of extensive practical experience in a deep level trackless mine**:

- ** Demonstrated experience in leading large and diverse teams toward sustained high performance**:

- ** Track record of successful liaison at senior levels with suppliers, regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, research institutions and industry associations**:

- ** Secure full Company Security and Related Occupational Screening and be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Company Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicants suitability for employment**

- Participate in and lead operational Safety, Health, Environment and Risk management campaigns, incident management and investigations and, ensuring the collaborative formulation, implementation and monitoring of appropriate remediation actions
- Participate in and lead team resourcing, capability and talent management initiatives on an inter and intra-disciplinary basis while ensuring the collaborative determination of optimal team and individual contribution toward a sustained high performance operational environment

- Participate in and lead regular and ad hoc short, medium and long-term operational planning and scheduling sessions with a focus on actively identifying and collaboratively solving operational delivery and value chain optimisation challenges
- Actively engage with and lead teams to address daily operational performance and facilitate effective root cause analysis to address operational shortcomings and, develop remediation plans to overcome obstacles impacting effective delivery and sustained high performance
- Continuously analyse operational delivery trends and design and implement optimised production processes and systems to attain optimal and commercially sound resource utilisation
- Manage stakeholder relationships with key internal, Business Partner and external stakeholders by ensuring broad accountability is maintained against operational delivery, service level, commercial, community and ethical standards and, resolve issues in a timely manner
- Develop, manage and monitor departmental capital and budget requirements to ensure achievement of agreed delivery, productivity and efficiency objectives
