Unit Manager: Theatre Complex

The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating improved quality nursing care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced within a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team. In accordance, the incumbent will be accountable for coordinating capacity building, mentoring and training, financial and stock management including cost effective quality patient care.

**Requirements**:
**Education**:

- A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification
- A post basic qualification in the area of specialty [Theatre technique & management administration], or evidence of competent experience in that field, together with contemporary skills and knowledge of that specialty
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council [SANC] as a Registered Nurse
- Matric or equivalent to NQF level 4
- Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislation
- An intermediate level of Computer proficiency

**Work experience**
- Experience in clinical leadership and management
- Thorough knowledge of general / specialized nursing theory and practice
- Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in the highly specialised field.
- Previous Unit Manager experience is essential
- 4 or more years experience in a private hospital environment managing the theatre complex would be advantageous
