Group Procurement Lead

We are in searching for a Group Procurement Lead to be responsible for ensuring that procurement strategy and governance is set and adhered to across the group. In addition, all group and transversal procurement spend that has been allocated to him/her must be managed through sound procurement practices.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:**
Governace**
- Responsible for maintaining the Group Procurement Policy including the other procurement policies/procedures that are set at group level
- Drive strategic sourcing across the group and assist divisional procurement teams as required
- Ensure that compliance metrics are being tracked and group metrics are being adhered to by the divisions
- Review the robustness of E-Procurement systems in the group and continuously assess whether procurement requirements are being fulfilled
- Monitor and drive preferential procurement scores for head office
- Continuously enhance governance across the group and implement best practices that are practical for Tsebo
- Own the group item categorization and review master data compliance on a regular basis

**Operational Procurement**
- Manage all categories allocated to group in accordance with the procurement strategy and to realise bottom line actualised savings for the Company
- Engaging with all stakeholders within the business, ensuring that proper procurement processes are followed, and the appropriate supplier is onboarded and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness whilst mitigating risk
- Effective Supplier Relationship Management including Supplier Adoption/Screening & Vetting and ongoing performance management
- Maintain and manage strategic supplier relationships
- Document management and control
- Contract negotiations and management utilising the standardised contract management principles, terms, and conditions
- Administration of the e-Procurement Systems where applicable

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Exposure to managing/working with Procurement Systems,
- Strong analytical skills to collate and interpret data including financial modelling
- Strong negotiation skills
- Expertise on procurement strategy & governance particularly strategic sourcing and the practical implementation thereof across different businesses/service lines
- Be goal oriented and innovative to ensure Tsebo is at the forefront of Procurement as a key value contributor to the organisational bottom line and strategy achievement
- Understand the private equity environment to enable success. Tsebo is a low margin, high labour and very distributed organisation. This is not an environment that encourages luxuries (expensive travel; getaways etc.) due to margin pressures
- Good communication / presentation skills
- Demonstrate track record of strategic sourcing; leading negotiations and cost leadership
- Have strong planning, organising and time management skills
- A mature and resilient individual who can self-prioritise and is results driven
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy together with problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills required
- Be able to handle conflict and manage stressful situations
- Able to develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Effective communication and relationship management at all levels within the business

**Qualifications**:

- BComm/BEng or equivalent commercial degree
- 8-12 years procurement & supply chain management experience
- An additional qualification in procurement would be advantageous
