Inventory Analyst

**Job Advert**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Inventory Analyst to join our team on a 6-month maternity contract. This position is based at our Support Centre in Kuilsriver, Cape Town and will be part of a very diverse Finance team. This position will report directly to the Accountant: Inventory. The Inventory Analyst will be conducting on-going Inventory risk analysis, ensure the balancing and alignment of systems and provide relevant reports.

Essential: - Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree) Preferred: - B Comm (Accounts)/Finance**
Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:
Key Responsibilities**:
1.Critically Asses Inventory Related Risks: - Investigate incoming inventory queries to identify and minimize risk of financial loss - Escalate systems error to PepKor IT - Recommend process changes to Business Analyst 2.Process Monthly Accounting for Inventory Transactions - Processing of stock counts - Ensure accuracy of write-offs relevant accounts - Process journals as required 3.Reconciliation of inventory GL accounts - Reconcile GL accounts - Ensure stock on hand accuracy - Process journals as required 4.IFRS Adjustments - Accounting and provision for obsolescent stock - Capitalization of forex difference, discounts and transport stock 5.Prepare transactional and management inventory-related reports
