**Responsibilities**:

- Research and identification of new investment opportunities in key strategic sectors
- Research and analysis of primary and secondary market investments, identifying new opportunities within these investments (both listed and unlisted)
- Research and construct comparable company analyses and develop multiple projection scenarios through company and industry research
- Support due diligence processes of direct equity and co-investment opportunities and assist with preparation of investment memoranda for the companys Exco and Investment Committee (a sub-committee of the Board)
- Monitoring adherence to compliance matters and legal agreements.
- Maintenance of investment models, portfolio data, and supporting analytics and regularly monitor portfolio company performance against base case and industry comparable companies
- Implementation of mitigating strategies / policies for key risks facing the investment portfolio
- Supporting the team in advising on and implementation of structuring and capital raising (both equity and debt) at an investment or holding company level.
- Input for and assisting with preparation of quarterly valuations and portfolio reports for the Investment Committee and Board
- Monitoring of existing investments and maintaining investee relationships including analysis of investee companies monthly management accounts, annual financial statements as well as high level engagement with the deal team to close knowledge gaps.
- Generally, assist with and support the execution of exits from portfolio companies i.e. identification of potential exit avenues and the implementation of successful exit
- Networking, liaising, and maintaining of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Business Science and Honours in Finance / Economics / Investments / Accounting.
- Outstanding academic record.
- Two to three years experience within the financial industry (Mergers & Acquisitions, corporate finance, investment analysis and management, prior experience in investment banking preferred.)
- Strong understanding of financial modelling and valuation methodologies.
- Deep research and analytical skills.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter, with an ability to work independently without immediate supervision.
- Must be proactive on projects and demonstrate initiative.
- Must have positive attitude and be able to thrive in a team-oriented company environment.
- The ability to grow into a lead role in managing and concluding investments and sourcing potential transactions for the business.
