Projects Manager

Process technology company looking to employ a Projects Manager with a B.Eng Mechanical degree and Project Management certification to be able to travel Africa and outside the continent. Doing multiple projects.

Job Responsibilities:
Assist with design of various equipment.
- Conceptualise design from illustrations / explanations of salesman/clients.
- Adjust working drawings and draft plans.
- Review and approve drawings.
- Commissioning assistance.

Drawing office.
- Ensure your project drawings are completed accurately and within the deadlines given.

Manage multiple projects.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and timeously.

Receiving of order from sales.
- Ensure that specifications are accurate.
- Liaison with sub-contractors.
- Ensure compliance to specifications.

Progress reporting.
- To the client and to the MD.
- Weekly project meeting.
- Costs sheets updated weekly.
- Cash flows are updated weekly, and billings sent to finance for processing.

Cold commissioning.
- Pre-commissioning checks.
- Dry run of equipment.
- Confirm system is running according to specification.

Hot commissioning.
- Pre-commissioning checks.
- Ensure all systems are correctly lubricated and filled with required oils, etc.
- Test runs with products.
- Measure performance against specs.
- Sign off work with client.

Inspection of existing equipment.
- Perform inspections on existing equipment at clients’ premises.
- Advise clients on maintenance plans.
- Liaise with internal sales on spares requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on existing equipment.

Client Liaison
- Visit existing clients to assess needs and generate leads for sales force.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Minimum qualification/education levels for this position:
Minimum B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering).

Advanced Certificate in Project Management or similar.

Required experience:
5 years’ experience in a similar environment.

Experience with hydraulics, gearboxes, etc. would be a distinct advantage.

Own transport.

Valid driver’s license.

Valid passport.

Travelling required (Africa and outside continent).

Computer literacy required:
MS Office & MS Projects (intermediate to advanced).

Advanced computer literacy requirements:
Inventor and Autocad (up to Autocad 2012).
