Our **Clearing and Forwarding Client** is currently looking for an **Exports Controller** based in **Kempton Park**

This position works with **Exports of sea, air and road freight**

**Education and Experience**
- Exports Freight Controller must have a matric
- Must have a shipping diploma (6 months of longer) from a recognized training provider
- Must have 2-3 years Clearing and forwarding Exports experience

Salary Range**:R12’000 to R15’000 depending on experience**

**A SENIOR Exports Freight Controller must be able to perform the following specific functional responsibilities**:

- Be able to interpret, Evaluate an export quotation and ensure that all charges are listed

**Be able to complete the following sections of an export quote**
- Cartage and delivery
- Stops and examinations
- Federal Charges (Documentation, Communications, Bank Charges)

**Be able to manage the full end-to-end process of a consignment, incl**:

- Contact the shipper or agent, and request the relevant shipping documentation
- Be able to register the shipment on ShipShape
- Be able to make a cargo booking with the carrier
- Be able to complete a bill of lading or air way bill
- Be able to complete a certificate of origin
- Be able to advise the shipper and consignee of the milestone dates of the consignment
- Arrange with a delivery company for pickup and delivery of goods to depot
- Follow up with the relevant parties to track the consignment
- Be able to calculate and record all charges relating to the shipment
- Be able to train freight junior freight controllers on all of the above points

**Be able to engage with the relevant parties**
- Interacting with the Clearing Customs Department to create and submit the BoE
- Advising the shipper of all charges
- Liaising with the Finance department to create a proforma/draft invoice for the client
- Submit the invoice to the client, and obtain payment prior to submission of customs documentation and delivery
- Be able to intervene in any consignment, and assist a freight controller with a consignment

**Ensure the delivery of the cargo**
- Ensure that all necessary export documentation has been completed
- Ensure that the cargo has been picked up, and delivered to cargo depot
- Follow up with the client that the delivery was made

**Supervise other freight controllers**
- Be able to check the work of other freight controllers
- Be able to provide assistance to other freight controllers

**Be able to perform a line management function, incl**
- Assist with training
- Monitor performance, and make recommendations for improvement
- Conduct quarterly performance appraisals, and review the Personal Development Program
- Participate in performance reviews and disciplinary hearings
- Make recommendations regarding promotions etc.

**Financial ability**
- Keep track of all export consignments currently being controlled
- Ensure that consignments are properly invoiced
- Ensure that client has been notified of charges
- Ensure that the appropriate financial controls are applied before submission of docs and delivery

**Salary**: R12 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
