A position has become available for a sales assistant at our West Coast Garden Centre based in Sunningdale, Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to maximise the sales of the Company’s nursery range of products through effective displays maintenance of sales areas and assistance to customers in a helpful and friendly manner, offering advice as and when required

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provides excellent, professional customer service at all times, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Assists customers with purchases by advising or sourcing relevant advice from horticultural personnel.
- Loads customers' trolleys with their purchases and guides them to the till points and assists the cashier with capturing the correct code/price of products.
- After payment, carefully load purchases into the customer vehicle, ensuring that all trolleys are returned to the trolley areas as per seasonal operational requirements.
- Responsible for maintenance of a demarcated area of the Nursery in a clean and tidy condition at all times
- Maintains all plants in the demarcated area in a clean, healthy, and saleable condition.
- Assists with the correct labelling of plants and packs them in their correct sales areas.
- Prepares areas for new stock.
- Ensures that sales areas are always kept neat and tidy and plants are effectively displayed.
- Assists with annual stock take.
- Assist with customer enquiries
- Provide feedback and communication to clients
- Loading and updating loyalty point for clients
- Handle credits and returns
- Compile quotations

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- A National Senior Certificate (NQF level 4) (essential)
- A Diploma in Horticulture (essential)
- Nursery Assistant experience for at least 1 Year
- Garden Centre Plant and Product knowledge
