To plan, build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies, procedures, products and advanced mathematical models that provide analytical support and interpret insights, to address business opportunities and problems and implement business strategy, with mínimal guidance.
Are you someone who can:
- Ensure compliance is adopted in terms of systems and procedures as laid out by business.
- Innovate by finding the best fit solution for the situation such as the flexibility of delivery and customised solutions which result in more efficient outcomes.
- Plan and perform regular model updates that capture evolving business complexity in current models Challenge current models to ensure relevance and accuracy of outputs.
- Test outputs and accuracy of models to ensure relevance.
- Use data and analytic insights to provide input into improving customer experience through a better understanding of the customers context to identify monetisation opportunities and monitoring implementation of business decisions to recommend enhancements utilising statistical modelling and data analysis.
- Adhere to model building policies, standards, frameworks, and governance process.
- Ensure own ethical usage of information that complies to restrictions applied for privacy and sensitivity classification.
- Assist in productionilisation of analytics in the approved FirstRand architecture by translating technical data information into practical business information that addresses identified needs.
- Source and do some preparation (20-30%) of relevant data sources for analysis.
- Translate business requirements into tangible models utlising own understanding of the business value of projects, models and processes.
- Build models that analyse processes to recommend areas for optimisation to achieve cost savings, revenue generation or efficiency improvements for the business.As a Senior Human Capital Data Scientist, your role is multifaceted, combining data science expertise with the ability to create insightful Power BI dashboards. Here are the key aspects of your job:
Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Leverage your advanced data analysis skills to extract meaningful insights from HR-related data.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated data models that support human capital strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.
Power BI Dashboard Creation:
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards that provide clear, visual representations of HR metrics.
- Showcase employee turnover rates, recruitment progress, performance evaluations, and other relevant data.
- Ensure that the dashboards are user-friendly and empower HR teams to make informed decisions.
Data Storytelling:
- As a data storyteller, transform raw data into compelling narratives.
- Present complex insights in an understandable manner through Power BI visualizations.
- Communicate trends, patterns, and actionable recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Bridge-Building:
- Work closely with HR professionals, bridging the gap between technical expertise and HR domain knowledge.
- Understand the unique challenges faced by human capital teams and tailor your data solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with HR leaders to align data-driven strategies with organizational goals.
- Quality Assurance and Accuracy:
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data presented in Power BI dashboards.
- Perform data validation, quality checks, and troubleshoot any discrepancies.
- Continuously improve data processes to enhance the overall quality of insights.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
- Expertise in Power BI: Ability to create dynamic visualizations, custom reports, and interactive dashboards.
Strong communication skills:
- Articulate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience in human capital analytics: Familiarity with HR metrics, talent management, and workforce planning.
