**Minimum requirements for the role**:

- A matric and Degree or Diploma or related qualification in procurement or related is preferred for this role.
- Previous experience having worked in a Senior Buyer role within the FMCG or related industries is essential.
- Purchasing goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
- Sourcing and ordering of food raw materials, goods and services both locally and internationally.
- Importing and sourcing alternate sources of supplies on a continuous basis.
- Handling all import costings, outstanding order schedule maintenance and updating and follow up on all shipments.
- Be responsible to customs clear all imports under the correct tariff headings.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
- Developing creative and innovative procurement processes.
- Negotiating contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Assessing and evaluating suppliers and undertaking performance reviews.
- Negotiating with selected suppliers and in line with organisational targets and requirements.
- Undertaking research on and evaluating existing and new suppliers.
- Assisting new product development department with sourcing new materials and projects.
- Co-ordinating special projects from inception to completion.
- Assisting with the implementation and sustainability of food safety activities.
**Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
