Housemother

**Vacancy: Housemother**

Irene Homes seeks to appoint a Housemother to take care of women who are intellectually disabled in a residential setting.

**Starting date: January 2, 2025**

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12;
- One or more of the following qualifications:
▪ Social Auxiliary Worker

▪ Assistant or Auxiliary Nurse

▪ Care Worker

(at least 5 years experience)
- SA Citizen;
- Valid SA drivers license;
- Clean Criminal Record;
- Proficient in English or Afrikaans (a third South African official language will be an advantage);
- Ability to write reports;
- Physically and emotionally fit to take holistically care of women who are intellectually disabled;
- Good health;
- Display maturity, integrity and good communication skills;
- Must be able to multi-task; and adjust priorities easily

**Notable**:

- Housemothers work shifts;
- Stay on the premises for the duration of the shift

**The following will be an advantage**:

- Public Drivers Permit (PDP)
- Previous experience in a residential setting/taking care of people
- Experience working with persons with disabilities
- Knowledge of disability
