Fence Technician

A Vacancy exist for a Fence technician at Midstream, who will be responsible for the upkeep of the integrity of all electric fences in the different responsible areas.

1. Grade 12 (Matric) as minimum qualification

2. Knowledge and experience with regard to the installation, maintenance and repair and

general upkeep of electric fences, are imperative.

3. Good knowledge with regard to electric fence energizers, electric circuits, fence zoning,

chargers, control panels and boxes, menu settings, fault finding and activations essential

4. Product knowledge essential

5. An appropriate qualification issued by a registered institution is highly recommended and will be beneficial.

6. Good knowledge of Standard Security Operational Procedures (SOP’s)

7. Verified SASSETA / SIRA certification. (Minimum Grade C)

8. A top performer and initiative to work independently

9. A self-motivator, utmost integrity levels, honesty, innovativeness and highest level of

10. professionalism

11. Good verbal and written communication and client oriented skills

12. Exemplary disciplinary record and no criminal record

13. Valid SA Drivers License (Current) Min Code EB, will be beneficial

14. Computer literacy will be beneficial

**Duties**:
1. Daily inspections of internal and external fences to ensure that all obstacles (example

interference of vegetation) are clear from all fences and taking of readings

2. Maintenance on all electric fences, energizers (if applicable), and replacing of broken wires, precarious resistors and bobbins when necessary

3. Testing of chargers, control panels, deep cycle batteries

4. Identification of weak areas in fence structure

5. Fence zoning and accuracy of zoning of internal and external fences

6. Rectify all activations

7. Report all suspicious activities or damage to electric fence and equipment to relevant Security Manager

8. Standard daily reports to relevant Security Manager (s)

Pay: R15 000,00 per month
