**Main purpose of the job**

To provide technical assistance, advice, and strategic direction to strengthen service delivery and quality assurance in the TB programs in the Province. Support the strategic planning, governance, and management to the MatCH supported Program & overseeing the successful delivery of the Program outputs in the respective Province. The incumbent acts as a pivotal point of contact for relevant stakeholders at provincial, district, and subdistrict level.

**Key performance areas**
- Oversee and provide technical guidance on the implementation of all TB, DRTB, and TB/HIV modalities at all levels (province, district, sub districts, facilities).
- Provide/facilitate technical leadership to programs in the areas of TB, DRTB, and TB/HIV service delivery, task shifting and programme implementation.
- Provide solutions on client centred care/differentiated models of care to improve retention activities, CCMDD, tracking and tracing.
- Assist in programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting at Provincial and District Level.
- Facilitate engagements to promote adherence to TB and TB/HIV guidelines.
- Regularly coordinate engagements with DOH and MatCH district program managers to review progress, identify and resolve challenges.
- Provide regular feedback to management on relevant program outcomes.
- Strengthen coordination by developing project specific standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms and guidelines.
- Maintain working relations with Department of Health employees, community partners and civil society to support implementation of DSTB, DRTB, and TB/HIV activities.
- Facilitate implementation of innovative TB, DRTB, TB Prevention, and TBHIV service delivery strategies including rollout of new TB and TPT drugs and/or regimens e.g. BPAL-L and 3HP.
- Conduct in-service trainings and on-job trainings, coach, and mentor healthcare providers.
- Monitor TB, DRTB, and TBHIV performance, analyse, interpret, and provide feedback to the prescribed DOH and MatCH personnel.
- Participate in program reviews, program audits, mortality audits, cohort reviews, and other quality improvement activities.
- Support and coordinate key stakeholder and vulnerable population engagement, networking, and advocacy.
- Manage and monitor project budgets through working with operations and finance staff.

**Required minimum education, training, and technical support**
- Clinical background - Medical/ Nursing/degree is required.
- Relevant Post grad Degree/Diploma qualification.
- Unendorsed driving license is required.

**Professional body registration**
- Registration with relevant Professional body of South Africa as required.
- Health indemnity insurance cover if applicable.

**Minimum work experience**
- At least six years of experience of working in the areas of TB, DR-TB, HIV, and public health. Good knowledge of TB diagnosis and treatment required.
- At least five years’ experience in working on implementing multi-faceted health programmes, with preference to 3 years of experience working on international donor funded projects in a programmatic capacity.

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities**
- Knowledge of research and activities/requirements related thereto.
- Good knowledge of TB diagnosis and treatment.
- Experience working in a donor funded organization / NGO or project-based environment. o Knowledge of national and provincial health structures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. o Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with Government and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure in a resource limited environment.
- Excellent communication skills including oral and presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent project management, organizational and coordination skills.
- Experience in training, facilitation, and material development.
- Researcher capabilities.
- Report writing ability.
- Management/supervisory skills.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
