Mechanical Fitter

**Key overview and responsibilities**:
The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for repairing miscellaneous mechanical and rotating equipment in Air Products facilities.

The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
1. Carrying out planned mechanical maintenance as per maintenance schedule PM and WO

2. Performing daily check and routine inspection on equipment and reporting all faults

3. Providing scheduled (monthly/weekly/daily)and ad-hoc reports as requested by Mechanical Supervisor

4. Attending to breakdowns on equipment

5. Adhering to company SHE regulations and requirements

6. Monitoring critical mechanical spares usages and arranging re-ordering as required.

7. Maintaining high level of housekeeping in the area.

**Essential Requirements**

1. Must have a Matric qualification;
2. Minimum of N3 Mechanical certificate;
3. Must be a Red Seal Trade tested Mechanical Fitter;
4. Must have knowledge and experience on plants and Air Separation Units (ASU);
5. Ability to perform strenuous work;
6. Willing to work overtime and perform standby duties, as and when required.

7. Must be computer literate in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

8. Must have knowledge of ISO standards and management systems;
9. Must have a valid driver’s license with own reliable transport

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
