**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee daily operations of the butchery department
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Supervise, train, coach, and support butchery staff
- Manage inventory, including weekly stock takes and proper stock rotation
- Ensure freshness of meat products and remove expired stock
- Coordinate stock movements from the cold room and conduct regular stock scans
- Prepare and issue daily production lists and weekly duty rosters
- Maintain accurate temperature logs and enforce cleaning schedules
- Approve and verify staff timesheets
- Monitor and enforce personal hygiene and general housekeeping standards
- Handle disciplinary issues and resolve staff-related concerns
- Support sales growth and ensure gross profit targets are met

**Requirements**:

- Matric (Grade 12)
- Qualified Blockman
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a butchery
- Strong understanding of meat cuts, preparation, and display
- Knowledge of industry hygiene and safety regulations
- Ability to manage and lead a team in a customer-focused environment
- Basic First Aid knowledge is advantageous
- Strong inventory control and administrative skills
