Things Responsibilities of the Role
- Create, update, and execute test plans and test cases for new and existing functionality
- Continuously improve test coverage by implementing new manual and automated tests
- Review user stories to determine requirements, acceptance criteria, and test approach
- Provide feedback and recommendations regarding software functionality, usability, and defects
- Participate in Agile workflows such as grooming, sprint planning, daily scrum stand-ups, retrospectives
- Work with QA Management and represent your QA team as their primary point of contact for managers and other stakeholders
- Taking a data-driven approach to identify areas for improvement and drive team performance
- Planning, coordinating, implementing your QA team’s test schedules and strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates
- Identify and provide assessments of potential risks affecting schedule or quality, escalating matters to management and relevant stakeholders as needed
- Being a core contributor in discussions of test processes, architecture, design, and implementation, along with management and other QA Team Leads

Journey Requirements of the Role
- Work Experience
- Has successfully led a small team of QA Engineers + 5 Years’ experience
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a hands-on QA Engineer
- Computer Science Degree a significant advantage.
- ISEB/ISTQB certification in software testing an advantage
- Experience in the telecommunications or finance industry an advantage
- Proficient Knowledge and Ability (this means that you know your stuff)
- Git or other source control management tools
- Performance and stress testing tools such as JMeter
- Programming experience in Java or other language
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud-based infrastructures
- Microservices architecture testing
- Integration with telecommunications service providers
- In-Depth Knowledge and Ability (this means that you are the “go-to” person)
- Deep level of understanding of the role of quality across the entire Software Testing Life Cycle
- Documentation of relevant design and test artifacts (use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, etc.)
- Manual and automated testing using tools such as Selenium, Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, TestNG
- Testing web services and APIs with XML and JSON payloads
- BDD and Cucumber
- JIRA, Confluence, and bug tracking tools such as TestFLO, Zephyr
- Reporting tools such as Allure
- Build and automation tools such as Jenkins and Maven
- Databases SQL language and scripting (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Change Management processes
- Scrum/Agile methodology
