**Job Purpose**
- The GIA Executive: Strategic Execution, Technology and Data Risks is responsible for leading and overseeing the audit portfolio that provides independent assurance on strategic execution, technology and data risks across the Nedbank Group. This role requires a seasoned audit or consulting professional with deep expertise in technology platforms (hardware and software), cyber, digital innovation, data management, and strategic transformation, with a primary focus on technology/data-driven strategic programmes managed by the Group Technology cluster and Chief Data and Analytics office.

**Responsibilities**:
**Audit Leadership**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive audit portfolio strategy for strategic execution, technology, cyber and data risks aligned with GIA’s and the bank's strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the planning, execution, and reporting on audits related to strategic execution, technology, cyber and data risks (refer to points 2-4 below for more detail).
- Report on the key outcomes from the audit activities to the relevant management and board committees.
- Ensure audit activities are conducted in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the correct resources are allocated to audit activities, including appropriate use of smart sourcing.
- Lead the execution of the allocated GIA strategic priorities and support the execution of the overall GIA purpose, vision and strategic priorities.
- Actively drive and support the culture of ‘One GIA Playing to Win’.

**Data risks**:

- Develop an agile audit plan that provide assurance on data governance frameworks, policies and data platforms to ensure robust data management, data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant banking regulations.
- Oversee the execution of the audits that evaluates the effectiveness of data governance, data management practices, including data quality, data privacy, and data lifecycle management across the Group.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance data-driven decision-making and risk management as part of audits, or separately.
- Keep abreast of latest trends, risks and opportunities impacting the data world in financial services/banks.

**Technology and cyber risks**:

- Develop an agile audit plan that provides assurance on key technology and cyber risks
- Oversee the execution of the audit plan that evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of control environment for technology and cyber risks across the Group.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technology and cyber risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them as part of audits, or separately.
- Keep abreast of technology and cyber trends, risks and opportunities in financial services/banking.

**Strategic Execution Risk**:

- Develop an agile audit plan to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and delivery of technology and data-driven strategic programmes.
- Provides insights and recommendations for better execution of strategic programmes, as part of the audit, or separately.
- Keep abreast of competitor activities, trends, risks and opportunities that are technology and data-driven in financial services/banking.

**Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Identify and share strategic insights and opportunities to catalyst change when engaging with key stakeholders, in support of GIA evolving to a ‘strategist/catalyst’ role.
- Keep key stakeholders appraised on audit activities and outcomes and seek relevant input to ensure alignment and support for audit activities that impact strategic execution, technology, cyber and data risks.
- Seek regular feedback on the audit portfolio performance and leadership impact/influence.

**Essential Qualification
- NQF level**

**Minimum Experience Level**
- 15+ years of experience in consulting, audit, digital innovation, data management, and strategic transformation roles within the financial services sector.
- Proven history of leading or providing risk management and/or audit assurance on strategic programmes, technology and data environments in global financial institutions.
- +-10 years' experience in senior leadership roles in audit, risk management or consulting for large financial services organizations
