- Obtain rates from transporters, create in-gauge load plans, manage and compile Transport estimates to Internal and External Businesses.**List of Key Result Areas**:

- Knowledge of abnormals ( locally and crossborder )
- Trailer types, load configurations and compiling load plans for general cargo and abnormal cargo.
- Should have existing Transporter relationships in the Abnormal market
- Excellent knowledge South African and Regional Port Operational Processes
- Knowledge of SADC, DRC, Tanzanian Transport regulations and Borders Custom procedures.
- Ability to Quote complex abnormal Projects for local and Crossborder movements
- Knowledge of Customs procedures in respect of road transport

- Operational Processes:
- Ensure that estimates are handled in timeously.
- Ensure the highest levels of customer service at all times and attend to client’s requests and queries promptly.
- Liaise with client/supplier throughout estimate process
- Vehicle Utilization & Tracking:
- Ensure Estimate compliance in terms of the Road Transport Act for both abnormal and in-gauge cargo- Compliance:
- Provide detailed handover to Operations upon estimate being accepted. Ensure efficient and effective execution of transportation services according to client instructions and company standards.- Transport and Delivery:
- Ensure all paperwork collected and accurate, containing all legally required information including but not limited to Commercial invoice, packing lists, SADC’s, ITAC permits, Clearing Instructions.
- Notify the client should planned events not be met. Implement contingency measures where necessary.
- Should the service offering be sub-standard, ensure all service failures are reported as well as any claims or incidents within a maximum of 24 hours.
- Maintain compliance with customs laws, including documentation as proof of export, acquittals on transit and bonded shipments.
- Ensure that the full scope of your job is carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when sharing information.
- Ensure that your own work area is always kept neat and tidy.
- Ensure adherence to the guidelines set out in your employment contract (timekeeping, telephone and internet usage, dress code, etc.)
- Ensure that reports are sent out as per the requirements.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be assigned to you at Management discretion- Key Performance indicators to be adhered to include:
- Estimate Accuracy and Response time.
- Load plans maximising trailer capacity.
- Supplier relationships.
- Financial revenue maximisation.
- Timeous submission of appropriate documentation and reporting.**Inherent Requirements**
