A global automotive and mobility company that has been an active participant in the South African motor industry and remains to be one of Southern Africa’s leading automotive companies is seeking to enlarge their team with two Welding Technicians (body shop).**Purpose of the Role**
To maintain, sustain and improve welding conditions in all sub and main line assemblies by supporting the welding engineer with: Validation activities, Conducting Audits, Best practice implementation as well as training and skill development.**Key Responsibilities**:

- Interact with Weld Surveillance Inspectors in all areas by investigating and improving weld concerns raised by them.
- Support Welding Engineer to close 7030 weld concern reports.
- Support Welding Engineer to close flash report concerns.
- Manage tear down work schedule.
- Audit robot weld guns for electrode alignment, tip dress conditions and weld positions.
- Weld Process Audits.
- Support Maintenance and Weld Integrity Engineer with G8D on welding concerns
- Update weld schedule cards by using Smartnet
- Correct weld schedules by using Obara handheld pendant
- Do all SPL training and ensure implementation there off.
- Support Weld Integrity Engineer with welding six panels activity.
- Design and issue Process Intents as per required standards.
- Shadow the welding engineer to gain useful work-related skills.
- Attend to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act findings related to welding defects.
- Ensure that all NDT inspectors and teardown inspectors adhere to global company welding standards.
- Do periodical PJO’s, Job observations and process confirmations.
- Assist with the creation of repair standards.
- Assist with the facilitation of weld repairs.
- Weld corrections based on destructive test findings.
- Verification of the correct usage of UT equipment.
- Update CRL’s
- Update and control weld sheets.
- Update and inspect NDT files
- Support all ANDON activity’s

**Minimum experience & qualifications required**
- National Diploma: Engineering (Mechatronics)
- 3 Years resistance welding experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years within the Automotive Industry
- ** Extensive Bosh 6000 or Kawasaki experience.**:

- Experience in Resistance Spot Welding within an automotive Industry.
- Welding, general mechanical and electrical experience.
- In-depth knowledge of **Bosch 6000 weld controllers**
- Extensive experience in the integration of **Bosch weld controllers and Kawasaki robots**
- Extensive experience in the integration of Bosch weld controllers and Kawasaki robots
- High standard of knowledge in resistance welding
- Automotive experience
- Previous experience as an senior person in charge of resistance welding
- Extensive Robot zeroing and programming experience
- Extensive experience in the calibration of current and force on Bosch 6000
- Robot zeroing and programming experience
- Knowledge and experience of Robotic and Welding technology
