Head of Pharma

**

**Main job function**
Provides strategic leadership to the global pharma team to enhance continuous workforce skills development and contribute to business efficiency and effectiveness

Serves as expert in matters of Regulatory requirements and is able to guide businesses towards best practice

Supports the Organization’s own product discovery, development and introduction into the market through basic, clinical and market researches

Shares recommendations to the BoD for endorsement and strategic planning

Exploring new business opportunities with a particular focus on the innovation pipeline, leveraging the category and brand strategies to drive sustainable profitable growth and market share improvements

Manage and maintain the current portfolio of products and provide strategic input for territory expansion through risk mitigation strategies utilizing commercial acumen, regulatory intelligence and drug management capabilities

Responsible for project management of cross-functional teams for product registration, launch, management of products in existing and new territories

Provide technical and regulatory intelligence guidance in line with commercial savvy to the business in terms of stability conditions and business requirements

Responsible for leading the pharmaceutical team to increase growth and profitability through agreed commercial strategic plans, strategic development and implementation of defined tactical and promotional plans to deliver planned business growth goals in various territories

Manage the commercialization of new and current products, including coordinating external and internal regulatory processes with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing sites for existing and new territories

Provides clinical support and technical insight to other members of the executive management team to develop and communicate the overall corporate strategy

Provides technical/Medical and Scientific insights and guidance to HODs/MDs, Marketing managers etc., and address queries an on ongoing manner

Provides technical advice on new areas of business diversification, acquisition, and due diligence from pharmaceutical and scientific points of view

Provides technical direction and advice on selection of key products during the initial phases

Qualifications:
**Qualifications**

Bachelor of Pharmacy; registered with Pharmacy Council

Postgraduate Business Management degree advantageous

**Experience**:
**Experience/Criteria**
Extensive Management experience managing teams of similar and diverse backgrounds in international locations

Critical independent appraisal of clinical research

Experience in setting up and running a health care or pharmaceutical business

**Use Technical/Functional expertise** - possesses up-to-date knowledge in the profession and industry; is regarded as a Subject Matter Expert in the areas of clinical, scientific and research in the health sphere

**Knows the business** - shows understanding of issues relevant to the broad organisation and business; has and uses cross-functional knowledge in terms of Clinical Research data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA. Expertise in setting up and running business/s in the health sphere, especially in the pharma or biotech space.
