We are looking for a **Category buyer** to assist the buying team to manage a category of products for FtN in our Body & Beauty and baby & kids category.

You will report directly to our lovely Head of Buying and Merchandising.

**Job description**

**1. Conceptualise and execute the commercial (growth) strategy of the Body & Beauty and baby & kids category at FtN. Specifically**:

- Actively drive existing ranges within the category to achieve growth targets via supplier partnerships, online merchandising, price and promotional strategies.
- New product Listings. Strategically source new product ranges based on category growth targets and market trends, ensure their viable stock turnover by indicating and managing their initial 3 month forecasts.
- Strategic positioning of Own Brand to achieve growth targets and wider recognition.
- Integrate in supplier partnerships paid rate card activity while ensuring the integrity of the FtN brand is maintained.
- Stay ahead of trends and ensure that product availability makes FtN the top destination to find the newest trends in your categories.

**2. Direct the category margin structure**:

- Ensure that the category margin targets are met by meeting margin targets on a supplier, brand and skill level through strategic position of brand and skus to drive product mix.
- Ensure that price competitiveness is maintained within the market by actively managing competitor price comparisons.
- Act on supplier cost increases and keep the planning team informed so potential buy-ins can happen.

**3. Stock Health contribution**:

- Ensure stock turnover health is maintained by managing slow moving skus in cooperation with the planner. This involves actively driving and balancing listing and delisting strategies and decisions.
- The forecasts for new listing are defines and actively managed.

**General requirements in the role**:

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- A qualification / diploma in Buying, Supply Chain Management or similar
- Experience in e-commerce/online retail environment
- Three to five years of experience in a procurement role
- Great command of English language for effective communication (written and spoken)
- Attention to detail
- Solid understanding of margins and data
- Ability to maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- A good understanding of MS Excel (formulas)
