**Job Purpose**
- Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent and suitably qualified individual to provide technical support for animal production research through assessment, evaluation, development and innovation to ensure the sustainability and maintenance of resources and proper execution of research protocols, primarily involving small stock generic research flocks.
**Minimum Requirements**
- An appropriate 3 year National Diploma (equivalent or higher qualification) in Animal Science or relevant; Compulsory registration with SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions) as a Certificated Natural Scientist in Animal Science; Three years post qualification technical (scientific) experience; A valid driving licence.

The following will have advantageous: Working knowledge of fine wool production systems, wool classification and testing; Experience in recording and coordination of research data related to animal science or breeding research.

**Remuneration**
- Grade A: R 391 671 - R 418 332; Grade B: R442 389 - R 473 778; Grade C: R 498 816 - R 586 665 per annum (Salary will be determined based on post registration experience as per OSD prescribed).
Note on remuneration: to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed.
