This not only requires smart analytics, but it also requires the ability to interpret this analysis and translate it into policy recommendations.- This individual will need to have the following skills:
- Descriptive, diagnostic and predictive data analysis
- Data visualisation and story-telling
- Database design and management
- Data linkage and engineering
- Data interpretation for policy-making
- This individual will be technology-minded and have a passion for data and the advancement of economic development in Africa. They will have a rare and unique combination of deep analytical and data engineering skills, and a deep understanding of the complexities of translating insights into policy recommendations.-
**Inherent Requirements**
- KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong academic background. A master's degree in Economics, Statistics Computer Science, Data Science, or a similar relevant degree. A blend of social and hard sciences is desirable.
- Demonstrated interest and understanding of economic development issues in Africa
- Willingness to travel within Africa when it becomes available- Integrating multiple datasets through linkage algorithms
- Drawing actionable policy recommendations from data using statistical and database programmes such as Python, R, Stata, or SQL
- Visualising data using Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio. Experience in D3.js is desirable
- Developing forecasts and using time-series data
- Using large datasets, survey data, and architecting relational databases
- Working with imbalanced data
- Using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Analysing data using GIS software such as QGIS

**What Qualification**
- Economics, Statistics Computer Science, Data Science, or a similar relevant degree
