Group Digital Architect

PBT Group has an opportunity for a Senior Digital Architect. Main purpose of the role is to lead, drive and mature the Digital Architecture practice and the Digital Services and API offering across all relevant client entities.

**Duties**:

- Create and mature the Digital Architecture practice
- Align and integrated the Digital initiatives across the Group
- Lead and facilitate the annual Digital Maturity assessment across all relevant business entities. This includes keeping actual survey tool current.
- Drive the strategy for Digital Services and API’s. This includes creation and maintenance of a group-wide API library. Monitor, analyse and report monthly on the utilisation and business value delivered.
- Maintain the AS-IS and TO-BE Digital Architecture
- Create and maintain Solution Architecture for Digital initiatives and manage them through the governance and implementation processes
- Create and maintain Reference Architecture library for Digital
- Create and maintain standard practice and components based on the Reference Architecture that can be used to speed up the implementation, compliance and business value.
- Lead and execute the Digital implementation as part of the Group Cloud Transformation Programme
- Lead the API Gateway migration of on prem services to the Cloud with best practices, patterns and migration standards.
- Research and understand external factors such as strategy direction, business drivers, emerging technologies, best practices and implementation standards and their impact on the Group Digital platform and practices. Translate these into meaningful Digital Architecture solutions and principles.
- Work closely with the business units to identify opportunities to provide additional business value that will enhance the existing services and build additional services required by the business units.
- Measure and track the maturity of each Business Unit with the Digital Data Architecture, reference architecture adoptions and business value being delivered
- Represent Digital in the Architecture Forum and related groups
- Lead and mentor members of the Digital and related communities in order to build deeper understanding and expertise around Digital Architecture

**Key skills/experience needed for this role**:

- Previous digital transformation experience
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS or Google, Azure preferred.
- Solid architecture skills
- With strong technical expertise, this person will play an influencer role in the business.
- Financial services/insurance industry experience preferred
- 8 to 10 years relevant experience including Software Engineering, Cloud and Architecture
- Strong experience in software engineering or infrastructure design and delivery including leading a platform or project workstream
- Broad experience across a few software development languages (e.g. Python, Go, Java, C#); in-depth skills with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
- Hands-on skills working with SQL and No-SQL databases
- Knowledge of Agile software development process
- Experience with TOGAF 9.2 and ArchiMATE 3.1

- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Comfortable interacting with, influencing and managing senior stakeholders from both business and technical backgrounds

Qualifications/ Certification:

- A degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / Business Administration / Commerce or equivalent
