**Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field with a focus on Afrikaans language teaching.
- Registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Afrikaans Home Language and First Additional Language for Grades 8 - 12.
- Proficient in both Afrikaans and English, with strong speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Experience in preparing students for National Senior Certificate (NSC) assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and students.
- Proven ability to create a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Clean SAPS criminal record clearance.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement lesson plans for Afrikaans as Home Language and First Additional Language for Grades 8 - 12.
- Assess and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement in language proficiency.
- Incorporate a variety of instructional techniques and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Participate in curriculum development meetings and align teaching strategies with school and national educational standards.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to stakeholders including parents, guardians, and colleagues.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related activities.
- Ensure classroom environment is conducive to learning and upholds the school's behavioral expectations.
- Prepare students for examinations, including NSC assessments, to ensure high achievement levels.
- Communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English for instructional and administrative purposes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address individual student needs and enhance educational outcomes.
