Autocad Draughtsman

Based in Diep River, Cape Town, their main product range is gates and fencing but they also fabricate balustrades, staircases, structural steel items for the building industry, pergolas and bespoke furniture. Their strong design capability, industry resource knowledge coupled with practical fabrication experience to enable a wide range of product offerings to suit market and client requirements utilising mild & stainless steel or timber materials.

You will enjoy the experience of our existing multi-cultural and multi-able staff and get to share in their practical industry knowledge. You’ll need your IT abilities and natural organisation to handle the workflow planning and technical aspects of the role.

- Working from rough sketches and specifications supplied or created by the sales team, engineers and architects to create;
- Creating detailed, accurate scale client and shop drawings using computer-aided design and drafting software while being able to make improvements to existing situations.
- Designing products being mindful of general and company specific engineering practices; efficient manufacturing techniques and delivery or installation practicality.

Scheduling and performing on-site measurements to fuel drawing requirements.
- Monitoring and reporting on drawing requirements in time.
- Working independently within set parameters.
- Specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures for products.
- Collaborating with designers, constructors and engineers on projects.
- Calculating dimensions and allowances with accurate precision.
- Compiling BOM’s, data and specifications sheets.
- Revising drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.

**To be successful, you’ll need**:

- Matric Qualification
- **Quantifiable experience** working with: AUTOCAD or SOLIDWORKS and SKETCHUP.
- Min. 2 years experience in a working environment OR Technical drawing qualifications
- **Must have a portfolio** which includes 2D & 3D samples of previous work done for the Engineering & Building Industry. **Please submit with CV.**:
