**Qualifications Required**:
At least a two (2) year ICT qualification in Information Technology or Computer Sciences or Information Systems, and

Certificate in Oracle 11G or 12 C certification.

**Experience**:
Eight (8) years’ or more experience in Oracle 11G or 12C database administration.

Five (5) years’ or more High Availability (RAC, super Clustering, Log Shipping/Replication or equivalent). Five (5) years’ or more experience in Linux environment.

**Job Summary**
- Manage, install, patch, and upgrade Oracle Server Databases, replication and developing and reviewing SQL and UNIX scripting;
- Database performance optimization, troubleshooting and problem resolution;
- Participate in database design/PL/SQL code reviews for projects and enhancements;
- Provide appropriate consulting, interfacing and training for information system users;
- Extraction of reports including ad-hoc for Auditors, Audit Trails, Operational Reports and Recurring Reports;
- Import, export, clone and back-up databases as needed for testing, quality assurance and disaster recovery purposes; management and maintenance of backups and recovery procedures;
- Data cleansing - cleansing of system data to increase the level of integrity;
- Data quality corrections - fixing the exceptions which cannot be done on the frontend portal due to User errors, legacy data, or defects;
- Develop and establish departmental standards and procedures;
- Support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability resilience, integrity, security and performance required;
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively;
- Manage the integration of multiple systems on the system backend;
- Manage and uploading of data and documents on the system backend (some of the tasks include uploading of bank statements and SARS discs but not limited to the mentioned tasks);
- Managing the Employer Registration Process on the current legacy system;
- Expert knowledge of database security methodologies;
- Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures.
