Clockwork is looking for a skilled and solutions-oriented Senior Strategist with a strong analytical mind to craft compelling strategies that deliver results. The strategist’s responsibilities will include conducting extensive research, analyzing findings, making recommendations, presenting to clients, and briefing creatives. You should be a thinker with a knack for uncovering consumer insights that inform impactful strategies.

The Senior Strategist needs to be proactive, curious, and forward-thinking with a passion for solving problems. We are seeking a team player who takes a collaborative approach, with a focus on building and retaining strong relationships with clients.

You will be working with a team of highly capable strategists, servicing the whole agency, on some of the most interesting client brands in South Africa and internationally.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop strategies centred on achieving the client’s business objectives.
- Creating competitive reviews and situational analyses.
- Identifying insights, challenges, and opportunities.
- Leading ideation and brainstorming sessions.
- Collaborating with creative teams.
- Collaboration with strategy colleagues and guiding junior strategists.
- Deliver strategies that are ultimately functional, actionable, and implementable.
- Drive clients’ business forward working closely with the account management teams to add value and grow client accounts strategically.
- Be involved in projects from inception to completion; ensuring projects are aligned to the strategy and the client’s objectives and KPIs
- Maintain an ‘umbrella’ perspective; provide ongoing strategic support and advice to clients that may impact on the strategy and instigate a change in strategic direction.
- Be able to work with mínimal supervision and deliver to deadline.

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Degree in Marketing, Brand or Communication strategy, or related field required.
- Previous experience as a senior strategist or similar role.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A critical thinker.
- Deadline driven, organized and detail obsessed.
- Be tuned-in to emerging trends, news of the day, and cultural insights.
- Interpersonal skills - ability to engage with clients and with internal teams to drive strategies forward.
- Experience across both B2B and B2C brands would be preferable.
