**Introduction**

Our manufacturing client, based in Durban, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per shift.
- Assist to achieve production plan per shift.
- Ensure that machine changeovers are done properly and within allocated time.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes.
- Train operators and assist with machine assembly, setup, and fault finding.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform mechanic skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Start and stop compressors as scheduled by head services.
- Plant inspections, compilation of reports.
- Maintaining electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- Matric.
- Relevant Trade Test.
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
