Azure Operations Specialist We are growing and are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Azure Operations Specialist to join our IT team based in Cape Town, South Africa. (VMs), network architecture, and corporate IT infrastructure. Salary is negotiable based on skills, experience, and will consider contractor or employed position. The position can be full remote, but you would be required on occasions to meet up with the team in our Cape Town office.. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Azure SQL Servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Design and maintain Azure-based network architecture, including virtual networks, VPNs, and security groups. Oversee corporate IT infrastructure, including identity and access management (Azure AD), endpoint management, and cloud security. Implement best practices for monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability in Azure environments. Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendors as needed. Assist in automation and scripting tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools. Stay up-to-date with Azure advancements and recommend improvements to enhance performance and security. Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Required Skills & Qualifications: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure SQL, VMs, and networking. Strong understanding of Azure networking components such as VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, and Load Balancers. Experience with corporate IT management, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and end point security. Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform. Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Center. Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies in Azure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, proven ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SQL server tuning, query performance and troubleshooting. Any Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator, AZ-500: Microsoft Security Technologies) are a plus. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Azure. Understanding of compliance and security best practices in cloud environments. Pay: R450 000,00 - R600 000,00 per year
