Product Owner: Trade Finance

**Role Purpose**:

- Keep pace with the latest in industry & technology developments as well as the broader regulatory environment;
- Improve the overall revenue contribution and performance of lending products in Vodacom Financial Services;
- Form part of a cross-functional team, developing lending products that improve the overall trade value proposition across market segments;

**Key Accountabilities**
- Develop innovative business lending solutions
- Build & scale a brand new portfolio with limited to no pre-existing processes, controls and systems;
- Third party contract negotiation;
- Manage a cross-functional team to create and maintain trade finance solutions;
- Development of the trade finance proposition and integration into the broader trade and payments ecosystem which will span multiple segments
- Accountable for all relevant product documentation
- Defining business rules and working with customer experience teams to define and refine new and existing customer journeys
- Providing inputs and evaluation for financial business cases
- Work with Business development manager and marketing to create revenue projections and forecasts; and analyse and identify shortfalls and areas of improvement
- Provide insights to the broader team around innovations and developments within the Business Lending and Fintech industry
- To regularly review launched products to ensure the performance is in line with initial assumptions and implement corrective measures / enhancements if needed
- Keep track of competitor launches and take measures to mitigate risks
- Daily, weekly and Monthly product performance reports and presentations to senior management team
- Creating and managing product backlogs ensuring products and features make it all the way through ideation, design, development and ultimately scale

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- Prior business lending product design and development experience is preferred;
- A detailed knowledge understanding of the fast-paced fintech lending industry is preferred;
- Understanding of regulatory requirements preferred;
- Understanding of system requirements to launch digital lending offerings preferred;
- An understanding of the full supply chain and financial impact preferred.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

- Matric essential
- Relevant 3/4 year Business degree essential
- Minimum of 8 years experience within the Product development essential
- Fintech or Business Lending experience preferred
