Senior Associate: Sustainable Finance Solutions

Job Family- Investment Banking

**Job Purpose**
- To collaborate, structure and implement Sustainable Finance Solutions and support the wider team’s efforts in originating sustainable finance transactions, in order to maximise sustainable revenue streams and materialise diversified cost savings through the pursuit of profitable, purposeful and innovative sustainable finance transactions.**Responsibilities**:

- Analyse and propose sustainable finance solutions for key clients working in collaboration with teams across the CIB franchise and members of the sustainable finance solutions team
- Work with the team in deriving credible sustainability performance indicators that can be integrated into mainstream financing proposals and engage in on-going solutioning in partnership with clients and relevant internal and external stakeholders Perform materiality assessments and devise bespoke impact oriented advise and ideas
- Build sound client and relevant external relationships by clear communication; regular meetings and setting clear objectives and timelines. Manage internal stakeholder relationships by collaboration across clusters; clear communication; agreeing on objectives and timelines and requesting stakeholder input in decision making.
- Project manage transactions to close by completing deal assessments using ; working in collaboration with key internal stakeholders; structuring transactions to unlock positive impacts ; provide input into legal documentation process; managing transaction deliverables and timelines
- Evaluate deal progress in line with set objectives and timelines by scheduling and leading progress meetings; following up on deliverables; scheduling review meetings with client and formulating write ups for internal and external discussion
- Formulate responses to Requests for Proposals issued by clients as relates to innovative / ESG funding instruments and formulate and prepare client pitch documentation
- Prepare material for external investors and engage with investors as required to match eligibility criteria structure innovative funding mechanisms
- Assist in preparation of sustainability information memorandum
- Assist in devising new and bespoke content for client pitches
- Ensure timeous submission of client proposals and internal submissions by effectively planning (setting deliverables; expectations and time lines); early engagement and following up stakeholders on deliverables; delegating and assisting in deal implementation across various aspects of the transaction
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
- Adapt to changes in all relevant legislation and industry trends by attending relevant training sessions and keeping abreast of market developments
- Resolve work obstacles by lobbying and one on one engagements with relevant stakeholders.
- Build professional relationships by networking. Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
- Participate and support sustainable finance initiatives for the achievement of business strategy- Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan, appropriate frameworks, and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
- Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
- Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified time frame.
- Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
- Contribute to developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholder’s businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Preferred Qualification- Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA),master’s degree in sciences or Legal or sustainable finance certification**Essential Certifications**
