St Stithians Boys' College is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Afrikaans FAL Teacher to join our innovative Afrikaans Department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young minds, cultivate a lasting appreciation for the language, and contribute meaningfully to a collegial environment committed to continuous improvement and academic excellence. This position which will be available from January 2026. - A suitable professional teaching qualification from a recognised institution and a minimum of 5 years relevant educational experience which includes teaching of Afrikaans up to Grade 12 - Previous experience in an IEB school would be an advantage, as would experience in IEB Matric marking - Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and the ability to integrate IT into teaching and learning - Openness to engage in **professional development opportunities**: - To play a role in **developing curriculum**, mentoring younger teachers, and participating in enrichment initiatives - Insight of curriculum knowledge and best practice in Afrikaans FAL - A proven record of excellence in teaching, assessment, and curriculum innovation - A high level of organisational and administrative skills and commitment to team teaching in a busy department - The ability to create and sustain relationships, and to mentor students in a boys’ school environment - A passion for teaching and the proven ability to create a positive learning environment and to motivate and inspire learners to flourish as skilled and agile learners - A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school, including extra murals - Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
